Coordinator to support the Supply Chain Manager in the day-to-day execution of logistics,

supply chain and operational activities.

A key responsibility will be coordinating inland transportation within Tanzania, including

arranging trucks, liaising with transporters, warehouses and customers, tracking deliveries,

obtaining Proof of Delivery (POD), and ensuring all required documentation is properly

maintained.

The role will also provide general operational and administrative support as required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inland Transportation & Logistics

Coordinate with transporters to arrange trucks for movement of goods within

Tanzania.

Obtain and compare transporter quotations, rates and availability.

Schedule and position trucks according to warehouse, customer and delivery

Coordinate with transporters, drivers, warehouses, customers and internal teams to

ensure timely dispatch and delivery.

Track deliveries and promptly escalate delays, breakdowns or other transport issues.

Maintain accurate records of trucks, drivers, transporters, delivery dates, destinations

and agreed rates.

Obtain and maintain PODs, delivery notes and other relevant transport

documentation.

Assist in monitoring transporter performance, reliability, rates and service quality.

2. Documentation & Supply Chain Support

Ensure required documentation and approvals are available before dispatch.

Collect, verify and file transporter invoices, delivery notes, PODs and supporting

documents.

Follow up on missing or incomplete transport and delivery documentation.

Coordinate with Finance to ensure transporter invoices have the necessary supporting

documents for payment.

chain, operations or administration.

Previous experience coordinating trucks and inland transportation within Tanzania is

highly desirable.

Familiarity with Tanzanian transporters, logistics routes and delivery coordination

would be an advantage.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and email.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.

Key Competencies

The successful candidate should be:

Highly organised and able to manage multiple deliveries and follow-ups

simultaneously.

Strong in coordination and communication with transporters, drivers and internal

teams.

Able to work under pressure and respond quickly to urgent delivery requirements.

Detail-oriented with strong documentation and record-keeping skills.

Comfortable obtaining quotations and negotiating with transport providers.

Able to identify delays or problems early and escalate them appropriately.

Reliable, accountable and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks.

Flexible and comfortable supporting both logistics and general operational

requirements.

What We Are Looking For

This is a hands-on coordination and execution role. The ideal candidate should be able to

receive a transport requirement and manage the process from start to finish — arranging the

appropriate truck, confirming the rate, coordinating positioning and loading, tracking the

delivery, obtaining the POD and completing the documentation — without requiring

continuous supervision. We are looking for someone who is responsive, dependable,

persistent in follow-up and focused on getting things done.
